Cornerstone Christian School's outreach program is one of the most exciting and fulfilling aspects of our school. We ask our students to participate together in the Great Commission, which says, "Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Mat. 28:19-20, NKJV)
We use these opportunities to teach students about reaching out and ministering to others, to teach them about God's love, and to expose them to children who live in quite different circumstances from their own. Our students learn about the outreach ministries that we support, and give a monthly offering to bless a particular place and group of people.
Our middle school students also participate in community service opportunities throughout the year.
Additionally, across the years Cornerstone students have collected various items, made classroom gifts and presentations, and penned letters, to meet the emotional and physical needs of people in need.
The following are some of the outreach ministries we have supported over the years:
Afghanistan
CCS students collected over two tons of winter clothing for children and families during the freezing winter months, as well as wrote letters of encouragement to US troops stationed in the region.
Casa Hogar
CCS students collected over $9000 for the year to feed the orphans at Casa Hogar Orphanage in Tijuana, as well as performed a toy drive. Additionally, a special collection was taken to purchase over 100 winter coats for the children, which met the dress code guidelines at their school.
Rwanda
Pastor Simon visited CCS to share the plight of the children in Rwanda and the efforts at his church to physically, emotionally, and spiritually nurture them. Accordingly, the students at CCS committed to raise at least $500 per month in order to feed 40 orphans per month.

Uganda
Pastor Mike Rozell from Pottersfield Ministries shared with our church about Pottersfield Kids, which has outreaches in El Salvador and Uganda. Our school has committed to support a new afterschool program in Entebbe, Uganda, for the 2009-2010 school year, in partnership with Pottersfield Kids and the local Calvary Chapel church in Entebbe.
